Playing piano somewhere in the world These pictures taken in Carrer de Petritxol in Barcelona shows the sadness of a piano no longer being played.  One might not know the story of this piano, but it still speaks to you . Failing to find a piano to play on in Barcelona, Elize eventually found this one in a toy shop in the northern suburbs...... 1000 Streets you seem to miss when visiting

Carrer Petritxol, Barcelona Situated in  El Gótico , just a few minutes off and parallel to  La Rambla ,  Carrer Petrixtol  is 129 metres long and only three metres wide, making it one of the narrowest streets in all of Barcelona. Through this street’s mosaics we can see the history of what used to be the customs and trades of this street, and therefore Barcelona as a whole. In 1959,  Carrer Petrixtol  became the first street in Barcelona to become completely pedestrianised. Art, bookshops and chocolatiers are what have made this street into one of the most popular and charming streets of the centre of Barcelona, with some of these vendors have become famous themselves. When you walk along the street you will notice that there are ceramic tiles that show information about parties, weddings or any other kind of social gathering that took place in the  chocolateries  in the street. The tiles also have information on the birth or death of f...

1000 impressive graffiti art examples from all over the world

Graffiti Graffiti is writing or drawings made on a wall or other surface, usually as a form of artistic expression, without permission and within public view.  When in Barcelona Dalene mentioned that she heard about graffiti in Barcelona, and would like to see it.   I took an interest in the topic, and actually got hold of some great artistic presentations. The majority of it however, remains crappy.  I decided to record some of the best seen.   They are repainted so often, that it might be the only recording of the art - who knows.... 21.  Beautiful picture langs die kunsmuseum in Gaborone 20.  Cullinan Hotel 19.

1.  Queens beach, Cape Town The seaside suburb of Sea Point has many beaches, but tucked away off its famous promenade is the lovely but forgotten Queens Beach. From the beautifully situated Sea Point public swimming pool, it’s a five-minute stroll to this quiet, wind-free beach.  Queens Beach boasts what the the locals call a “big and mushy” break for surfers, plus white sand to laze on and, for families, starfish in rock pools, interesting shells and rocks for children to clamber over.  While there are no lifeguards, the swimming is generally safe. Like all Atlantic seaboard beaches, however, the Benguela current means the water temperature is what can only politely be called cold.   Visiting during peak holiday time, the beach has few visitors, with immaculate clean bathrooms and beach. 2.  Barcelona Barcelona en Seepunt het baie in gemeen, met groot walkways en mense wat stap en fietsry.  Op ons eerste besoek wou Dewald surf, en ons het ...
